Have you ever encountered a venomous snake?

There was one of these next to a golf-cart path in Charles SC. A southern copperhead. I picked it up with a club and tossed it into the woods. Quite docile.

Same here.  I've walked past copperheads and freaked out when I realized how close I had come to stepping on them.

I did for a few years.  It was beautiful country but I couldn't stand the humidity, mosquitoes, snakes, and fire ants. Fire ants are the worst!

I lived in a rental in Ft. Lauderdale that had them crawling through the living room.  I still cannot believe I endured that for 3 months.  No wonder I used to drink.

NO, never.  They instinctively fear me and therefore avoid me at all costs.

I have never met a dangerous animal that could harm me.  I have always had bars between danger and me.

    ....or glass.

When I was a little girl, I loved catching tadpoles in the creek. I always used my bare hands but my parents didn't like that so they got me a little net to use instead. One day I was trying to catch tadpoles and a snake lunged out of the water and attacked the net. That pretty much scared me away from messing around in the creek. I don't know what kind of snake it was but it may have been a water moccasin as I've encountered them in my yard before as well. I may have accidentally disturbed that poor snake though, I didn't even know it was there but luckily it went for the net rather than my hand.

I love creeks.  I love water.  But that would have kept me away for good. LOL

They were always around where I grew up.  No problems ever, we did kill a lot of them however when they got close to the calving barns etc

Several times. Tiger, black and eastern brown snakes. They're happy to leave you alone if you don't bother them, so I don't.

Never encountered a taipan, I don't live that far north. Those are aggressive.
