Dairy farm. I know it's not the same as when my Dad was growing up and him milking the cows. But, I'd like to give it a try.

Cows are interesting animals to work with but the dairy farmers mostly use milking machines. Some cows may need to be hand milked.

  • I guess a grain farm because I have a feeling a dairy farm would smell awful,  and I’d want to vomit every day if worked there. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 23, 2019 3:19 PM MDT

Dairy cow barn is not an overpowering smell if the farmers use scented straw for cows'  bedding.

Grain farm in springtime you might be driving tractor seeding,  summertime plowing,  discing,  cultivating etc. fall driving truckloads of grain and sometimes operating the harvester. Can be a dusty job.

  • I’ll just take which ever job is easier and doesn’t smell bad then.

Smell in the dairy barns is usually pretty mellow. Think i'd prefer dairy farm work because I don't like the dust and noise of field machinery.

Ok. I'm sure you will be all right. Stay away from pig farms, they are about the smelliest.  This post was edited by Kittigate at March 23, 2019 3:36 PM MDT

The latter.  And I should mention that in my later 20s I did work on a farm for a couple of years.

I have a small farm, but no animals except cats. Most of my acres are growing all kinds of weeds and bushes. I have no tractor.
