I think it's much more interesting, albeit in negative terms, how many unscrupulous ways an American aircraft manufacturer has of prioritizing profit over safety. To think that the country with the 2nd-largest population in Africa, and a rapidly expanding economy, should not have a flag carrier (and international flights since 1951) frankly sounds a bit naive at best.
