    til·de
    /ˈtildə/
    noun

    1. an accent (~) placed over Spanish n when pronounced ny (as in señor ) or Portuguese a or o when nasalized (as in São Paulo ), or over a vowel in phonetic transcription, indicating nasalization.
      • the tilde symbol as a part of a URL.
      • a symbol similar to a tilde used in mathematics to indicate similarity, and in logic to indicate negation.

Funny, but I used to NOT HATE those things.  I can't imagine what happened.

But it can mean the difference between a baby and a drunk. Kind of a big deal.

Except for one thing. That is an accent mark  ' not a tilde  ~

Accent marks are totally different and this meme is incorrect. This post was edited by SAY MY NAME at April 4, 2019 2:44 PM MDT

I thought you knew electronics. Tilde is often used to represent AC current in diagrams.  Since it looks to be flowing in two directions

you just used a tilde as a tilde to try and prove that a accent mark is a tilde.
