My parents had sex on the way here from Rhodesia.  In the plane.  Ist Class.  There was a celebration on the Tarmac the likes that have not been seen since that birth of the Nazarene.

(I capitalized "tarmac" for the reason that it is a famous one now that I have graced it with my conception.  It is known as "THE TARMAC in cool people language.) This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at April 30, 2019 7:15 PM MDT

I'm here because northern European countries just weren't winning any popularity contests with my ancestors so they came here!

  • In the mid-1800s, ancestors from Europe and other parts of the U.S. came to California for the Gold Rush. From these early settler families in the Sacramento area a number of families branched off, including the one my dad was born into. In graduate school, my dad met a Japanese immigrant woman who had been living in the U.S. for several years. That was my mom. The two of them got married in the mid-80s and spent a few years together traveling and enjoying childless life until they decided to make themselves a Nevan. I arrived at a hospital in Sacramento in 1991. :)
