No disrespect intended here. I think NAMES are important. Would you prefer to be a Gertrude/Hortense/Elspeth or a Pam, Carol, Susan? Why?

For you guys. Would you rather be known as Hobart Herbert Hubert or a Rick, John, Jim, Alan? Why ?

Sometimes a shortened form of a name works. Trudi is pretty, and an Elspeth I knew was called Betty. If my name was Hubert I'd use "Bert", and a friend on mine called Cedric is known as "Ric".

A lot depends on your surname. Some first names just don't work with some surnames.

Funnee hunnee! You know R kids can be very cruel. Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter APPLE! Imagine what kids could do to that name? "Rotten to the core" comes to mind.  I'm a Rosemarie. That's a big name to saddle a little kid with and the kids couldn't do much to it. I wanted to be an "Ann" when I was a kid even so. Simple. One syllable not 3. I grew up and then I liked my name. But as a kid? Not so much. Your name is really cool. How d'ya think you'd have done as a RUPERT? I'm not a fan of BERT but BURT LANCASTER I liked a lot. Now isn't that weird? A single letter change and the sound is exactly the same? I can't imagine a BERT Lancaster. Maybe it's just me. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 9, 2019 3:34 AM MDT
