  • It's true, we do. The one thing you don't see as often is iced tea from a Mason Jar. That's a throwback to hard times when you saved anything that could be used as a drinking glass. Our society has become more mobile and the demographics have changed dramatically in my lifetime, so whether you're in Alabama or Indiana, you can order grits and iced tea without raising an eyebrow.

  • When I was very young we went on a road trip though the states with my family. When we stopped for breakfast in omen  if the southern states I ordered ‘grits’ some reason I thought they were going to be hash browns... NOPE! Cold mush lol.

  • The correct pronunciation is Y'all. It's an all inclusive plural directive. Also, Y'all are the ones with the accents, not we'uns.

    It is a common misconception that the average Southerner's IQ is 10 points below national average.  It's actually only 8 points.  If you look at a map of the illiteracy rate in the US you see that Atlanta, Georgia is the geographic center of illiteracy in the United States.
