What's a reasonable price for concert tickets or when do you personally max out?

There's a concert I want to see and the artist is charging $85 per ticket. I cannot justify that. D:

There is simply no music concert I’d pay more than a few bucks to see. No one. Especially the current crop of “artists”. Been there, done that.

Shows like Cirque du Soleil, Broadway style productions (where people stay seated in front of you, nobody vomits or is tripping on X) and such I’d pay a tidy sum for good seats.

  • Ticket price is a big reason I don't go to many shows anymore.

Anything over $40 is too much for a single headline act IMHO.  These $100 a ticket shows???  Sorry but  it just isn't worth three hours of music.  Especially considering it is about another $100 on drinks, food, and transportation when all is said an done.

We spend $40 to $65 each for orchestra and chamber music tickets, less if it is a student performance.  In some venues I am a "senior" being over  60 so I receive a discount but my husband, not yet 60, does not qualify.  $70 to $100 dollars each for staged opera tickets. Less when semi-staged. We don't attend a lot of opera but we do go to some, maybe four every year.
