I’m leaving something to start something new I’ve wanted for the past 5 years, but too afraid to make the jump. I made the jump officially today. I rather not say exactly for privacy reasons, but I’m very excited :)
I've seen them in concert twice. I won't share again about how I snuck to the backstage area after their show and found their dressing room and knocked on the door and they let me in and we visited together for about 20 minutes or so. They are SO nice and SO funny! :)
The Pointer Sisters have made a wonderful joyous impact upon my life. I was probably ten years old when I first heard their stuff -- and they sang in a wide variety of styles -- and ask my parents -- I went bonkers over them! I first fell in love when they sang in tight jazz-vocals stuff. But they sing all styles well! They remain in my soul always.
I know the story and you know i’ m still jealous lol. I’m a bit intoxicated cos went out celebrating this afternoon. But I’m still jealous ;p I AM GOING TO MISS YOU SOOO MUCH :)
hey, it's not officially a song about being "excited" but seeing your mention of the Pointer Sisters and Thriftymaid's, too- - I'm so excited! :)
I can't help but post another song by them that I really like. Maybe it will excite you like it does me. Did you know The Pointer Sisters sing country songs, too? They wrote this one and performed it - - and they ended up winning a Grammy for Best Country Song by a Duo or Group. (I'm unsure of the exact category but they definitely won a Grammy for this song. )
Three times! Boy, I'm good, ha! And as you listen and love this song more and more -- I know you will, how could anyone not like this song? Ha! - - as you listen, soak in their harmonies! They sing SO well together! Yes!! And I adore when the background strings come sailing back in at the 3:45 minute mark. :) And, of course, the closing lyrics - - "Move on. I got to move on."
But, on the other hand, about that time things were crazy for me, then my computer overwhelmingly and completely crashed and I lost everything I ever had on it (I think). Anyway, if you sent me yours, I may have lost it. Yikes. :)
