What countries have been created solely out of immigrants settling in an area with great numbers?

    Most of them were before recorded history, and they didn't count countries, only kings. It is only about the last 500 years or less that anybody considered a nation to be a physical area of ground. Before that, a nation was like "over here" versus "over there".

    All of them were I guess but when I was in high school the right answers to that question were Argentina Australia Brazil Canada New Zealand USA and Uruguay.
