Some wealthy, distant relative leaves you $100,000 per year to go into savings. After you make the first withdrawal, the deposits stop.

How long do you wait to start spending it?

Er, um, I don't know what you mean by that. I'm not showing her more attention than I'm showing to you . . . (Psssst, Merlin, put that sandwich away, Jaimie might see it; just wait for me in the bedroom, I'll explain everything later. Wait, take the sandwich with you to the bedroom.  I have to calm her down, then I'll be right in.  Shhhhhh!)

  • Yessssss! We can. Especially if it’s your rich relative giving the money. If it’s mine, I’ll go first and check out some locations. You wait here, I’ll be back for you...

      **Six months later . . .

Gee, Merlin, have you heard anything from Jaimie?  I've been waiting patiently for her to send for us, but there's no word at all. Merlin?  Merlin?  Hello, Merlin?  HELLLLLLLOOOOO?  Are you there, Merlin?  Can you hear me?  I. Must have a bad connection or something. Hmmmm.

Maybe they forgot to save my phone number. Maybe there's no good signal. Maybe they didn't take USB cables with them for charging their phones. Maybe they got arrested again and used their one phone call to contact lawyers. Maybe . . .  Grrrrrrrr.

Excuse me. I hate to interrupt but:  Do you think you can live the rest of your life after that on $1Million?  One million Canadian?  Remember the question, way back when? This post was edited by CallMeIshmael at June 17, 2019 12:09 AM MDT

At least ten years. (That’s a whole lot of time for accumulating oodles of interest too!)

I would only make one withdrawl.  It would be the whole amount.
I would put it under my mattress and sleep on it, indefintely.
I've always wanted to roll around and have sex on a wad of money.

What whole amount?  You get 100,000 dollars  per year until you make a withdrawal.  So there is no ceiling.

But, if it sits there and doesn't get used for something other than the banks, what good is it?
Since he started giving me $100,000 the day I was born, I have 52 years of $100,000 plus interest.  This is the year I pull it and play with it myself.
Please note. All my friends will benefit.  This includes, you, of course! The oceans and wildlife and human society and various other non-profits as well.
It is time to spend it on people and animals and the planet we live on. :) :) This post was edited by Merlin at June 16, 2019 12:28 PM MDT
