Some say 'be happy now, for no reason.' and I really admire that, because we only have 'now.' , ever. However I was curious if anyone has any specific mantra they use in their daily life that helped them get to happiness, or feel they were living..
Yes, I say, "I'm going to have me.a good day today, no matter what". It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.

I need something to get up for. Lately it's either been planning a trip or being on one. Sometimes I look forward to working toward finishing a project.

by being aware of breath coming in and out.

there actually is a mantra within the breath
it is ...So Ham...(It means --I am that)
So, when the breath comes in
Ham, when the breath goes out.
...yes it is a thought
but a good thought.
When we are lost in the thought world
we can use that one thought
to take us away from the other thoughts.
...then, when the other thoughts
have dropped away, we can drop the mantra
and just be in awareness of the breath in silence.
I continue to use this quote from Tom Petty; 'even the losers get lucky sometimes'.
