Is there a song which best describes you and your life, that you relate to on a visceral level, and has become a personal theme song?

    The bird is the word.

Of course.  I have eight parakeets who rule the roost and the song is JUST gorgeous like me and my personality.

I have been there. Our ship stopped there on the way home from Guam.

Well, as Mick said, you can't always get what you want, you know.

Several - for different aspects of my life.

Ari and I love this one as it gets closest to us. We do it passably well as a duet.

Planet Clare was Fantastic in the 80's.  Also Private Idoho absolves them from all the rest of the their bubble-gum shouting lunacy.  I saw them twice.  The first time before they were really popular and they were a lot of fun. The second time was after they got fame and they started to really suck 80's Jefferson Starship style muzak radio crap.

    THE END.

You hit the nail on the head, again, for me!!

I'm not so familiar with all of their music - - but i DID  wonder -- before the "bubble-gum shouting lunacy" -- that they might have had a 'better' sound and/or not-so-bubblegum-ish!

    I love reading your comment!

Even though I like their bubblegum sound on the hits I know, I would do well to explore the music you mention of theirs!
    Thanks again!

And I just thought of the very gay movie "My Own Private Idaho"- - never thought that the movie title is probably from this song because I never knew there was a song with this title?

Let us not forget the immortal Planet Claire verse:

    Planet Claire has pink air
    all the trees are red
    no one ever dies there
    no one has a head

Listening this song for the first time but it feels I have heard this song before or the tune is matching with some other song, not sure! Thanks for sharing anyways!
