If you had to choose between politics or nature as a guide for life, how would you decide ?

    Nature -
but that doesn't mean being ruled by instinct.
For me, it means understanding the law of cause and effect as it occurs naturally,
and using the understanding to make ethical choices.

  • I have zero faith in politics, politicians, or the political system.

  • Of course it would ideally be nature and all the logic and proven fact that comes with it. Unfortunately I’m a thinking and feeling human with self perceived needs and my own opinion of what is right. I don’t think its possible to take politics out of the equation.

Mature is harsh but beautiful.  Politics are harsh and ugly. This post was edited by officegirl at July 10, 2019 10:48 AM MDT

  • Certainly nature. Anything driven by ideology will eventually become a self-serving power struggle, whether it be politics or religion.

There you go again, using the logic side of your brain.
Religion Is and Was the first form of government. This leads us into politics. All of these wouldn't be around if it weren't for the laws of nature. She must have had a slight hiccup when it came to the politics of the whole fiasco. This post was edited by Merlin at July 10, 2019 1:57 PM MDT

    Well... the essence of Nature!
The essence of Life is my guide.
    The depths of Consciousness
    where the essence resides
is my guide, now and forever
    and has always been.

Let's see ... here's what I think "nature" would mean, as far as guiding my life:

    Predators don't apologize to prey.
Those not of my "clan" are my enemy, even if they are the same species.
"Invasive species" don't hold themselves back.

  • Maybe, maybe not.

    But also :

    Sustainability
    Cooperation
    Interconnection
    Balance
    Adaptation
    Neutrality
    Simplicity
    And sex.

    Lots of sex.
