A Mercedes Vito van based people carrier...it was the most comfortable vechile to drive and I did 200,000 miles plus in it.....it was just impossible to work on the engine and it's diesel injectors got welded in to its cylinder head four of five times while I had it..... All vechiles with the same injector design system suffered the same problems.....Shame on the Germans for designing such Rubbish....:(
I am a Mercedes Benz gal D and have been for DECADES. Here's why. When my son was attending the University of California at Berkeley his best friend and my "second son" OLD SCHOOL drove up for a visit. Old School's family had a Mercedes and so we drove up in it. Old School let me drive it and it was then I FELL IN LOVE! I'm not kidding! The car was large and felt like a tank. Well I don't know what a tank feels like inside but inside the Mercedes I felt very safe and very protected. But driving it? Oh my gosh it cornered at high speeds like a race car! I think Old School got more than a little nervous but that car drove like a dream! It was so responsive and I honestly felt like I was driving a feather! My son graduated from Berkeley in 1987 so it was in the early 80's that my love affair with Mercedes Benz began. Now since then I have fallen in love with Lamborghinis. Never drove one. Stylwise all models blow my mind! But it is not the deep abiding love that I have for Mercedes Benz. Since I don't know how to work on engines I can't speak to your frustration. Old School's family also had a Jaguar I think. I fell in love with the XKE Jag in the late 60's but I never drove one. I just thought the style was awesome! Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to the D! :)
My dad had XJ6 Daimler/Jags and my mum drove a big Mercedes when we were small rosie.....I liked the ould cars better then the new ones....most all new cars look so ugly now ....the old American cars looked amazing to... I loved the Shelby Mustang and drove a frew AMercian cars in my teens....
My first car - a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. It was 18 years old when I bought it, and had to part with it four years later - being t-boned by a pickup whose driver failed to observe a STOP sign made the little car very unhappy. Firefighters had to cut me out of it.
