    Is that up near you?
We used to do that on the Merrimack...Could drive the boats from Lowell, Mass all the way up to Manchester. We never dared dip our toes inthat nasty river, but it was fun as hell This post was edited by Jon at July 21, 2019 5:22 PM MDT

  • The beach is about 8 miles away and the nighttime pics are from Friday comming back from  dinner.  Went and looked at the rich people's boats in a charity poker run. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 21, 2019 5:23 PM MDT

    Rich people love their boats!
Winnipausaukee here is like a damn showcase for the rich and famous. LOL

I'd most likely have one if I could afford it, but I would take mine to the ocean since it's nearby

  • Saltwater ears motors alive. Even ocean rated ones.  Maintenance ends up double the price on anything that touches saltwater.

My buddy 'Big Mike' has a twin-Mercury engine seafaring rig and he's constantly working on it. He would invite me out to go fishing at least twice a year and it blew me away how much a slip and maintenance for that thing cost annually.

  • So glad I don't have to rent a slip.
All my chit is bought used and self serviced out of necessity.

My dad had an opportunity to pickup a foreclousure property on Winnisquam that had 4 slips and a boat house. Berfore he died, his NEW wife had convinced him to sell it because she didn't want the burdon of taking care of it.  If you know your NH lakes, you know that the big lakes here are all meshed together.  Can you imagine how much those slips are worth now as opposed to 20 years ago?! Rent Or Buy..Holy crap!

Spunky, sometimes the simpler things like this are the best.
I always fall asleep in air condition except for when I'm driving

Depends on the weather. The 8 - 15-year cycles in subtropic Australia are unpredictable and becoming more so.
Rainy years - mostly indoors reading and writing.
Dry years - either swimming or kayaking
or reading and writing in cool places.

I find it amusing that you define your weather in years rather than seasons, but that is to be expected where you are.
It has always been a dream of mine to visit Australia and that almost came true several years ago as part of a proposed business trip.  Unfortunately that never transpired.

    Hello Goatsey
During the summer I do alot of riding, my favorite rides are down to big basin or out to the coast to my favorite little restaurant for a cup of chowder. I love tending to my property. I also like to go out to the valley to kayak the Stanislaus river. Every last weekend in July I host a weeks vacation for my family, brothers and sister and all our kids, about 20 of us, up near Tahoe, will be leaving Wednesday for this. Having a burger on the deck at Alice's restaurant.I try not to work these days during the summer months so I am free to enjoy leisure time
