I don't give a rat's who said it first.  It's become famous from the song and I PROMISE you Kurt gave his nods to George.  

I am quoting the song.  So, please take the stick out.  I would thank you for the knowledge, if you were not so haughty about it.   Only I get to be obnoxious.  

   A stolen line (no less by a drugged-out slacker) is still a stolen line. Cobain doesn’t deserve credit for theft nor for plagiarism. Celebrate him in others ways, but not by ignoring Carlin.

Why are you pickin on a poor dead guy.  Carlin was not drug- and alcohol-free you know.  And as I said, people of that generation (GEN X) were not stuck in some idiotic mind game of decades prior where you needed to make SURE everyone knew who you were referring to.  The point of the song was to FIND THAT STUFF OUT because people in that circle of JUNKIES AND RETARDS like you think they were, liked to look things like that up.
