They taste good and I know of no reason not to eat as many as you want as often as you want. Well, each of us must determine how our body responds to raisins. In bulk they do have a laxative effect. I learned this the night before the bar exam. Stop laughing!!!!
That, as a child, I truly thought they were candy. :)
Hmm . . no wonder my parents always had a lot on hand and would so often buy them at the grocery store if I asked. :) That little red box with the seated lady
Good morning~ :) For some reason I picture you with your mom, in the grocery store, sitting in the top part of the grocery cart. When she went down the raisin isle, you'd point to the red box and smile! She'd smile back and grab a box of them. Good for you and her, literally and physically! :) :)
I admit I don't have memories of sitting in the cart, though. I probably did, I'm sure.
But I loved walking around the store on my own feet, I do remember that -- and it was my dad who went grocery shopping and I loved going with him. And I remember often asking, verbally, "Can we get raisins?!" And I never remember him refusing. Like I said, I thought it was so great that he and mom would let me get "candy" all the time. :) I don't blame them for never correcting me, "Honey, raisins are not candy, they are fruit." Ha!
And I did like grapes, too, but I knew grapes were fruit. (But, like grapes/raisins and plums/prunes - - those two/four fruits still taste so different to me that I would not know they were the same fruit.) :)
EDIT: I don't remember if my brother and sister liked raisins like I did.
