Why don't we hear of it the other way round (which is the way it really is)?
xactly.
That is the way it is Andy. The only truly nasty people on this site when it comes to politics are progressives. The few Democrats on the site are not included in that assessment.
You're right, my2cents, so why does it all seem so one-sided? I don't believe it is just my imagination, I've seen too much of it to believe that.
So, what is your definition of "progressives"?
I strongly disagree.
That's painting with a very broad brush.
Metaphorically speaking, "He (or she) who smelt it, dealt it"
I see it being said about both quite frequently.
I'm only going by what I see, GoatJumper. When I see enough of it the opposite way, I will accept that I was wrong. Until then, I'm sticking to what I say now.
Do you? In that case, Bozette, why don't I? I'm on this site more or less every day.
A recent example would be how all those left-wingers wanted that girl that was hunting big game in Africa put to death. I think that you're on that bandwagon . ..
In my experience there's plenty of intolerance to go around. Hell, even libertarians (not me, of course :-^)) can exhibit some rather nasty intolerance.
Precisely. Although she and I almost never agree on the issues, I can count on hartfire to be civil.
...Except me. LOL!
...And there IS a difference!
Practically speaking, American progressives are ultra-left wing. Most are unapologetic socialists. Democrats take a slightly more pragmatic stance on social and fiscal issues.
What are you talking about, Goat? That's painting with a roller. :-)
As my2cents suggested above, you're being influenced by political parallax. Your views of those to the left and to the right of you are skewed.
But by no means should you feel singled out. All of us are influenced by political parallax. The only defense against it is to be aware of it.
Damnit I resemble that remark! :-)
10-4!
What's the matter with you, Rp? You've been MUCH more pleasant to talk to/with lately. Everything OK? :-)
I don't talk politics very often, but when I do I am civilised about it. What is stopping others from being civilised about it?
