I have one inherited from my grandmother. I find the only smell from the snuffed candle is that unpleasant smoke of paraffin wax - it gives me the yuk idea of petrochemical molecules getting down into my lungs.
Ours actually smell even worse in these Candle Stores over in the US. They smell like a headache. They smell like SWEET fake caramel. UGH. TOO RICH and headachy.
I know exactly what you mean - those scented candles. They smell make me feel like vomiting. Don't know how anyone can make a buck from them - unless there's a lot of people out there whose noses have become desensitised by city smog.
