They were laughing at us long before the G-7.  You don't have to be a mental health expert to see that Trump is devolving.

I see what you did there.  President Zero indeed.

    And then there is this.....

A viral thread of pictures showing Republican-held districts was posted by an attorney using the Twitter handle of @BJS_quire Sunday morning. Several GOP senators and House members including Lindsey Graham and Matt Gaetz were targeted for scenes of dire poverty in their respective South Carolina and Florida constituent bases.

The thread noted people live in poverty in districts across the entire country, not just districts under either Republican or Democrat electoral control.

We don't laugh at America or Russia - only the current leaders.
And we don't just laugh - we also worry.
The Russians get no choice at all.
We understand that the America voting system is rigged so that it doesn't truly represent the majority vote of the people.
All democracies are rigged to a greater or lesser degree.
It's immensely difficult to create a system that is and remains fair to all - though that doesn't mean we should try to evolve one.

We've been laughing our a$$es off since November 2016, once the shock wore off. And now his clone is in charge across the pond - but didn't lead his party to the last general election, so there's no way of telling if Boris Trump will win the next one.
