Have you ever heard of "baptism by fire"? In Egypt they built statues of Molech with a fire inside and they would put a baby in the statue's hand so the baby was consumed by the fire.

The practice of water baptism in Christian ceremonies is goofy because Jesus specifically said that was out. It's in Acts 1:5 but people who baptize won't read that verse the way it's written; they drop the "but" so the two baptisms are set equal instead of in contrast. Then they cite chapter 10 where Peter baptizes people in water. But in chapter 11, Peter says he did not do that, and he quotes 1:5 as his reason.

What does Acts 2:38 and 19:1-5 mean?

As far as baptism by fire, how many have survived that and how is it accomplished?

My bible has no reference of anyone becoming a Christian without being baptized into Christ and there are examples as with the eunuch saying "Here is water, what doeth hinder me to be baptized?"

I would like to see examples, Biblical and otherwise of someone being thrown in a fire as a baptism. I think that is considered a cult.

May God have mercy on all those poor ignorant souls headed for destruction. It's hard enough to do things right without some quack wanting to set us on fire.

I did say it was Egyptian, ok? I did say it was Molech worship ok?

"Baptize" means "dip". It does not mean "dip in water", it only means "dip". Some people get a brain fart stuck in their heads and they just can't accept that it does not mean "in water".

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"In the name" get it? Not in water -- in the name.

Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

"In the name" get it? Not in water -- in the name.

Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

"But" get it? "But" means "in contrast".
