Define: smarter. Whoever designed creation is perhaps, 'the smartest', yet many people do not recognize a master creator.

I hope so!  Sometimes I think I'm as dumb as a doornail!!

However, if that is as smart as I think I am, how could I think I was any smarter?  That would be for others to assess.   This post was edited by Merlin at October 20, 2019 7:47 PM MDT

But can you judge intelligence by accomplishments -- including overcoming disadvantages?

    No idea.
I could be smarter, dumber or exactly as smart as I think I am.
I've done tests which give some idea.
I practise Lumosity almost every day and that will show me how I compare with various averages if I want.
But I'm not sure how accurate any of these measures are.
I still make plenty of silly mistakes.
And there are ways in which life throws up problems to test any intelligence.
In the end, I'm probably only as bright as the most recent problem I solved or flunked.

How about you, Element? How would you answer your own question?

I asked an impossible question. How would I know? Silly of me, but typical.

No.  I was never encouraged academically growing up.  I don't believe I was asked one time by my mother in 13 years of public school, "Have you done your homework?"    I secretly thought most people were fools, even as a child. The grownups said really stupid things to kids thinking we (the kids) would just accept it.   Not until secondary education did I want to excel and came to realize that , while not everyone, the fool population truly was flourishing.  I have continued to watch that through the years.    Anyway, the answer is not anymore.  I am aware of my intellect.  The reason it's good to know is self expectation.  You cannot  fail to meet it and have confidence and high self esteem.  You are the only one you have to please in the "I think I can"  .....   "I DID IT"   scheme.

Funny you should ask. A friend recently told me I am.  That's hard to believe.  How can be smarter than the smartest man in the world?
