Yes, it means dress your age.
YOUNG man? He looks in worse shape then she does.
Lolz. You could say that. ;-)
Which means?
I can't wait to wear my shorts and sandals with black socks.
Is it wrong? Because of your age, or?
This is in the 'unwritten social contract' category---pass.
Right, SapphicHeart. Spot on!
There is not.
Other than the "Florida" Rule, no (men that move to Florida to retire are required to wear odd-looking shirts, loud Bermuda shorts with the belt either above the naval or below the hernia repair scars, black socks and leather sandals).
And by the way, the cartoonist missed it completely. The clothing that the lady is "wearing" is perfectly fine and very tasteful.
Right? I don't get it either. To be fair though, the entire concept of an 'unwritten social contract' baffles me altogether. I despise the idea itself. So...
If that exists, I don't take the slightest bit of notice of it. Why should I? I'll wear whatever the heck I like and my age has no bearing on it.
That however won't mean it's not present. It merely means you have liberated yourself from such expectations made by others. And may I say, good for you! :-)
