Books had not yet been invented when I was a kid.

Did you also like the Science fair?
I was a geek in elementary school and did a huge science project on parasites. I learned more about liver flukes than a normal kid should know. lol

When my kids were in school they got Scholastic book order forms three or four times a year.  These were exciting days for both of them.  The teachers said my household could keep Scholastic in business.  We were a book family.  But, I never went to a Scholastic fair and if the kids did, I don't remember it.  Maybe that was the actual word for the days they distributed the order forms.  I don't know.  It was many years ago.  If there was anything like that when I was a kid I would just throw it away.  If it cost money, I knew I wouldn't get it.  I didn't love books in elementary school but I did like being at the library.  I walked to the library often.  And now, the library is just on the other side of the canal where my home sits.  I can walk but I have to go down to a road with a bridge.  But, I like having the library nearby again.  Here, the library parking lot is always full.  People back home don't believe me when I tell them that.  But it's true.
