I do speak with what I hear as, natural perturbation.  The reference to Janis Joplin was she sang from her heart and didn't care if she was on tune or not.  She did it because she believed and she could. :)  As I did for you on your birthday. :) :)

Lauren Bacall has always been my idol.
Even though we hear ourselves differently than others, I've been told I have one of those voices when I'm relaxed and happy.
Still... to ever be as poised and elegant as Lauren Bacall is something I can only wish.
To me, she is the epitome of classic charisma, intelligence, and amazing feminine beauty.

I read Lauren Bacall's autobio when I was young and I have loved her since.  Humphrey Bogart and Jason Robards.  Pretty cool.

I think Janis had perfect pitch.  She never sang out of tune.  ????  She just had a raspy voice.  

The most incredible characteristic I remember about Janis Joplin was she did everything with passion.
She cared deeply about what she was doing, who she was in love with, what she was singing about, and her audience. 
She projected the ability to do and be anybody you desired... if you desired it enough... no matter what.
That is what I found so fantastic. :)
I sing off-tune, sweets, and dance to the off-beat. If she was on-tune or off-tune, I seriously do not know.
But, I imagine she wouldn't mind if she was.  What she had to say seemed more important.

I may have missed my calling.
As long as I have a friend, Don, or an issue around to expound upon, I might make it as a writer for them.
