Discussion»Statements» Bernie Sanders flawless reputation for decades. Donald Trump, graft, corruption, lies and theft for decades. And we have a problem picking
Bernie has been consistent and scandal-free. He enjoys an 80% approval rating in his own state and high marks in New Hampshire.
Trump is a self-serving thug who's a failure to the oath of office and the US constitution will get him removed or voted out on his fat keester with the grace of God.
It's all coming out. The most corrupt president ever...

He has never really done anything except show up for a check for public offices he has held. He never had a job untiil he was 40 and got elected mayor. He has been in congress for 30 or so years and sponsored one bill. I don't even dislike him. His passion is obvious. I would love to have coffee with him and talk. But I don't want him to be my president.
Candidates are employers. And Bernie was mad this campaign employees complained about not being paid the $15/hr to the public. He did raise them to $15/Hr but cut their hours.
Do you have equally fair and balanced umbrage against all people who commit such acts, or only those who are not in your camp? William Jefferson Clinton, not a tight-wing Republican, has just as negative a history of relating with women, where’s your outcry there?
Representative Katie Hill was allowed to quietly tiptoe out of office after resigning when her dodgers spins came to light, I’m sure I’ll have to dig very deeply to find your daily posts filled with name-calling and shaming remarks about her, won’t I?
Jesse Jackson, an ordained minister, had a secret family sequestered in his background while he was preaching against the evils of anyone who wasn’t in his camp, and while trying to run for the US presidency.
Marion Berry, while mayor of Washington DC, was caught in cocaine/prostitute/bribery scandals, convicted and incarcerated, yet his fellow dems held him up as some shining bastion of the party’s best measurement for success, AND voted him back into office for another term when he left prison. Employment, economic advancement, education, housing all worsened under his tutelage, while crime, graft, blight, poverty and urban decay all skyrocketed.
Not every conservative right-winger is bad. Not every conservative right-winger is good. Not every liberal left-winger is bad. Not every liberal left-winger is good.
If you’re going to spread it, do so evenly, that’s all I’m suggesting.
I listened to some expert analysing why conservatives chose Trump over other more moderate and stable characters. Apparently the Christian fundamentalists are so enraged about the difficulties of getting their goals achieved in government that they are willing to overlook character flaws to achieve them. For them, it's a matter of the end justifies the means. Republicans definitely could choose a better leader.
If I understand correctly, the "we" is not really the USA. It's the result of the gerrymanders and the Electoral College. But even these can be overcome. And the Democrats must do everything they can to find the leader who can convince them all to vote.

It comes down to policy. They rest is wrapping paper....I will take policies over the pretty paper that gets nothing done all day.
There is NO way to gerrymander an national or a statewide election. Because that district bountry does not change...it is the states border. Gerrymander only applies to the House of Reps and local races. We have the electorial college because it ensures that a Presidential candidate must appeal to the entire country not just the most populous states. If we were popular vote then candidates would only worry about California, New York and Texas.

The evangelicals are a useless lot of religious hypocrites. Their only concerns are to outlaw abortion and to turn homosexuals into 2nd class citizens who they can deny healthcare, employment, housing, and be free to bash, kill, and ridicule. They like to point to the treatment of homosexuals in Muslim countries but they are merely jealous that they cannot do it themselves.
The only way to assure a fair election that represents everyone is with a nationwide popular vote. Trump did not win the election with the popular vote and that was by a huge margin, 3Million+ people The Electoral college is an antiquated system that was set up to assure that rich, white property owner's had the majority of power.
Gerrymandering has little direct impact on Presidential Elections since only Maine and Nebraska allocate electoral votes directly based on Congressional Districts, but the impact on party politics affects the candidates that you will see at the Presidential level

What Trump does in his personal life or did in his personal life decades ago is between Trump and God. Just as any of our actions are between ourselves and God.
President Trump is delivering in policy. And that is what counts. He even caused Planned Parenthood to defund themselves.
No. You should look up why we have the electorial college. And we all have the right to vote now. Regardless of race, gender, property owner or as long as we are not a Felon. The electorial college is not effected by the demographic of the electorate. It is about representation for all from large to small states.
But, you see, Trump is the incumbent, and he will be re-elected in a landslide if the Dems nominate a lefty wingnut like Sanders or Warren. That's why Bloomberg is getting into the race.
