Are you someone who has NEVER used a treadmill before, either for running or walking? ~

I've never used exercise equipment in my life.  I get natural exercise.

I also eat mostly food from my own farm or food from local farms and I pay attention to the amount of Calories I eat but no plans to ever use a treadmill.

After I had kids I had some extra weight but cool sculpting took care of that.

Umm, no Randy.  There's a difference between calories and Calories so it's back to science class for you!  A calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 g of H2O by 1 K.  A Calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 kg of H2O by 1 K.  When talking about food energy it's the Calorie that's typically used, not the calorie.

Don't make me wake up Element 99 this hour of the morning to school you on this.

Ok, thank you; I wasn't aware. As for Element, go ahead and wake him up. He's retired, has no schedule, and has nothing better to do.

I kept a treadmill for many years.  When I moved in 2010 I didn't take it and haven't bought another.  I think about it often.  Think.

So where do you hang your laundry now that you don't have a treadmill any more?

    (J/k!)

Have I said that on here before?  I did hang things I didn't put in the dryer on my treadmill.  That's funny you said that.

LOL, no, you haven't written it as far as I know. I'm merely referring to the habit of a lot of people who buy exercise equipment and instead of using it for its intended purposes, it becomes a convenient clothes hanger.

  • I don't believe I have ever used one. I have used an exercise bike and an elliptical, but not a treadmill.

  • No.  I've done it all. I've been on a treadmill, as well as stationary bikes, elliptical devices, stair climbing and leg press machines, weight lifting benches, coital slings, DOM/sub crosses, wait a minute I think I'm beginning to veer off topic.  Anyhoo...I love rooms full of equipment I can get on and ride all in the name of a good workout.

I have used it but found the elliptical is easier on my joints.  If I had a gym in my house I'd use it every day.  Who wants to work out on nasty ole bacteria laden public gym equipment...not me.
Someone's old sweat all over it....yuck!

We have very neat gyms and rec centers and there are sanitary wipes that are demanded to be used at every piece of equipment, but you are right.  I don't want to travel. I want it in my house.

Introduced to it this summer by my American cousin.

Had exercise bike while my wife was less active and lost 21 lb.

Since then it's been the real bike and the folding bike.

That story was VERY inspirational.  GOOD that you lost the weight in a healthy manner too.

I am not.  I used a treadmill for the five minutes I had a gym membership.

I lasted about two months.  I would have done good if I had sent that money to charity.

I hate them.  I have tried to use one.  I never had headphones on hand to listen to a good book or something like that.  My brain gets bored unless it has something to think about and I am too boring by myself.  I need a smart person talking in my head telling me stuff while I am stuck walking or running in one place.

I like to walk, just outside and in an area that is interesting.
