No but if I had two pair of hands I might have to.

I've lived in places like Chicago in winter and no amount of gloves are enough when you have to spend time outside for longer than 1/3 of an hour.  20 minutes could freeze your hands off some days when the windchill factor reaches 40 below and worse.

But here?  That is a distant memory.  In Sun City, Arizona, gloves are for riding horses. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 29, 2019 11:09 PM MST

  • Here in the southeast, we don't have much in the way of severely cold weather. When we do, I usually don't wear gloves. Two pairs would probably create a problem so I just wing it.

Not for warmth. Most wicket keepers, including me when I played, do wear 2 pairs of gloves, light cotton "inners" under the heavy leather ones - for extra cushioning and to prevent the big ones from becoming sweaty. Stopping a rock hard 5 3/4 oz missile travelling at speed every time the batter misses it is rough on the hands, so the extra padding is necessary.
