Not a fan. The back up vocals always sound like a record playing at the wrong speed setting. Yet it doesn't hold a suck candle to any of these 4 songs.
The one about shoes is about a boy who wants to buy a new pair of shoes for his terminally ill mom so she'll have a new pair of shoes on when she goes to meet Jesus so now that I've written this I'm thinking about a joke about a mom who was going to meet Jesus so yeah, that's what this made me think about because that's just how my dark mind works but unfortunately I can't tell that joke here.

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time The greatest gift they'll get this year is life Where nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
So, the geeky and nerdy nitpicky answer to songwriters Bob Geldof and Midge Ure's question people in the southern half or so of Africa actually do know it's Christmas time because they're majority Christian and I'm pretty sure that most people in the northern part probably do know about it even though it's not a holiday for them. This song is annoying because my nerdy nitpicky brother always had to point this out when he heard this song so yeah, those are some of my Christmas music memories!

D) -- I find it almost insulting in its blatant attempt to be "meaningful," poignant," and "emotional." It tries way too hard in my opinion, and after hearing it once, I now tune it out if I hear it. :)
And I think they made a movie based on the song, too? "No Thanks."
