Because in American terminology, it's a Gas to perform in public and to come out with someting unique yourself butt not neccassarly original....
This is a type of humour that that famous American old film portrayed perfectly ...it was called I think...(Gone with the Wind) ....it was so good ,it just blew me away....it did cause a bit of Dis'stain at the time it first airing at the cin'enemas ....it caused a right stink when first aired , but think you've gusted that by now.....

I have two little neices ,both sisters....there is less than a year between them....they walked from berfore one year of age....
They both fart a lot and look for eye contact with any adult standing close by , the laughs and giggles from them both ,have everyone fall'ing about in hysterics .....me and me mum included....hehe 

Other people's reaction to them. It's hilarious.

To create a stink about nothing is almost unheard of unless it's quite loud ......:)
