In the 1988 song “Simply Irresistible” by Robert Palmer, one of the lines in the lyrics is:

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

This is the video with all the women who look basically the same.

The money went to plastic surgery.  She used to look good but NOW is simply irresistible.

Plastic surgery was a big trend in the 80s as well.

Then why does it say there’s no telling where the money went?  If it went to plastic surgery, there’s no question as to where it went.

You cannot look at her and know where she spent money. On her nose? Chest? Perm makeup? Lipo? Lips? Hair? Face? Etc?

Basically she is high maintenance. And she is going to cost you.

I will adventure another guess on that line. That she looks so good and he is so overtaken that he spent like wild on her and does not know even what he actually got.

According to the lyrics, he was so mesmerized by her beauty that he didn't care about anything else.  Therefore, whatever money he spent on her (I assume gifts, dining, and such) didn't matter, just so long as she was his.

    Or she was a hooker.
