In the middle of a heatwave, the ground is rock hard atm. Also my back won't allow me to swing a mattock. Get somebody else to dig it - preferably with a backhoe.
I visited for the Adelaide Festival in 1883 - a drought year. I'd only just arrived back from five years in the chilly UK. That year was 40ºC every day in March - so dry the sweat evaporated before you could feel it. I remember feeling scared that I might collapse from heat stress.
So glad you have the aircon. :)

I planted a whole new bed of summer greens, herbs and veggies - and the bush-turkey came along and uprooted them all. Replanted them with a heavy metal mesh pegged above. That stopped him.
Then yesterday morning I was shovelling mulch onto the honey garden. Had successfully done 3 barrowloads and was feeling fine. Then in mid-stroke came the sudden searing pain - repetitive strain injury, I'm told. Now I'm hobbling around like a cripple and so cross with myself.
Oh, hither, thither, and yon. Goat and I both have a deep love of photos, especially he being a photographer. So we have quite a collection of pics and vids. If you're impressed with my "fabulously appropriate photos" you should see Goats shockingly inappropriate ones. LOL!
