Is there anything wrong with this magazine cover?

    Not really.
    It accurately sums up the artificiality of Hollywood - all glitz, glamour, show, and false values.
    No ethical, emotional or social depth or substance.

    To be honest, I can't tell whether she's black or not.
    I don't know who she is.
    I don't know what ethic mix her genes are.
    I have no idea how much plastic surgery she's had, nor where the cosmetics end and the computerised air-brushing begins.
    I only know that there's not one pixel that displays a human being as she would be in real life.

    There's also a massive amount of sexism in the image -
    the age-old representation of a nubile woman in a sexually inviting posture, setting her up to be treated as a sex object.
    I don't like that - but it's typically Hollywood.

    I did not recognize her either. I just heard about the blowback she is getting for "cultural appropriation".  It is her magazine so she is has control over all including the pose.

    Not my idea of beauty at all: everything is fake down to the color of her skin.  She might be pretty and look younger underneath all that false facade.  I remember the first time I saw Christine Agularia
    without makeup:  she is naturally beautiful and looked 20 years younger.   This type of glamour is old-fashioned, from the 70's.

  • People need to get a grip. She’s Arminian, so that is her skin colour. They way I see it is she’s going for a throw back look. I think she’s going for the  Liz Taylor..that’s what I saw when first looked at the pic. It’s much better that that cover a couple years ago that was breaking the internet lol.....I was going to post the pic then realized you’d just have to delete it :)
