What do you usually bring to a potluck?

We did this potluck lunch thing at work today, which stressed me out Cos I can’t cook.. at all. So I made this Mexican layer dip ( no cooking, just slapping stuff together) and everyone loved it the most. So I’m the queen of potlucking now.

Fortunately, since I don't cook either, I have never had to bring anything to a pot luck anywhere.  To be honest, I don't eat things that co-workers bring from home.  I have no way of knowing how clean they are so I just don't partake.

Yeah, I try not to think about that too much. Same for eating things at restaurants, really. And if you think about it enough, it'll lead you down a path that makes you think about the conditions where food is grown and processed. I remember a science teacher telling us about ketchup containing human spit in it... ugh!!

Tuna casserole. Quick, easy and gluten free (My better half has Hashimoto's).

  • Doesn’t tuna casserole have macaroni  noodles in it? That’s a lot of gluten. -_-

I do it with rice - and substitute crushed potato crisps for breadcrumbs.

I often bring the shredded chicken sandwiches. A crowd favorite. Here in Ohio, there seems to be a tradition that no other states have.  The story goes back to the first drive-in restaurants in the 50s. Perhaps you have heard of A&W Root Beer. The shredded chicken sandwich story starts with A&W. A small company called 'Root's Chicken' in Fremont, Ohio still provides 'shredded chicken' for the sandwiches. I don't like to talk about these sandwiches in front of Randy D. because he will start craving for them.

  • Sounds good, we have lots of A&W Reasturants here but I don’t think they have pulled chicken now. Yeah don’t let Randy see your answer or he’ll start following you around the site, stalker.
