For me., as far as repetition and beating an idea into the ground -- Mariah Carey for me. Great voice but any time I hear something from her, she'll eventually start screeching out the high notes. so far, that's what's happened every time. :)
Trends -- taking a great song on its own and then someone adds a, to me, an annoying heavy rhythm bass to it all -- example: Hozier's "Take Me to Church" - - such a GREAT song to me in its original form. Now, the only version I hear on the radio is the, for lack of a better term, the DiscoHipHopDance "Church" song. Give me back the original. :)
Too much of a good thing -- a song that goes on forever .even if it's good. Granted, if I like it, I'll probably like it whatever the length. But, for what it's worth, I like how pretty much anything by The Mamas and The Papas just blows me away -- in what seems to be two-and-a-half minutes or less. :)
I matured and my tastes in music broadened quite a bit. Except for that Rap crap. Before I matured, Rap was first and foremost on my list. As I got older, it slowly began to fade into obscurity. I guess you can say that I ruined my tastes in music, but it worked out quite nicely.
