Which is better: having a surname that is also a profession, or having a profession that is also a surname?

Arthur - author (yes, yes, I know it’s a different spelling and different pronunciation)
Barker -barker
Cook - cook
Driver - driver
Elder - elder
Farmer - farmer
Gardener - gardener
Horseman - horseman
Innsman - innsman (ok, so I’m grasping at straws)
Justice - justice
Kitchener - kitchener (more straws)
Logger - logger
Miller - miller
Pastor - pastor
Quartermaster - quartermaster
Reader - reader
Sheriff - sheriff
Teacher - teacher
Usher - usher
Workman - workman

I know it’s not the whole alphabet, but I’m spunt.

A lot of surnames started out as occupations. Smith, Cartwright, Wainwright, Fletcher, Hunter, Cooper etc.
