    Hello des:

    How ya doing?

Yeah, I use hyperbole as liberally as salt.  I knew you had reasonable views..  But, certainly you don't deny that MOST, if not ALL, Republicans in the House, would vote against such a REGULATION?  Look.. I'd be happy to be wrong.  After all, Republican president Teddy Roosevelt is the father of the environmental movement.

You are an EXCEPTIONAL right winger my friend. You know that. Otherwise you would have been excoriating excon and moi all these years as other Conservatives have done when in fact we have all 3 of us gotten along  just fine. Hunky dorry. I don't know if excon has been privy to all our conversations about conservation des. Thank you for your reply and the links and Happy Tuesday! :) ((hugs00

"If the Presidential shoe fits" ? What is that supposed to mean?

And do you have any examples of Presidential actions actually doing that, other than payback patronage jobs as repayment for campaign support? I'd love to see some . . . I can show you plenty of jobs that have been destroyed because of rhetoric from that office . . .

    Hello again ex...

Here is the thing, when we get past the hyperbole and ideological blinders I believe we want to get to the same place. I don't know if you read the answers in the link, but they will show we agree on this, almost word for word, regarding what the government can do to foster an environment that will attract new industries.

As you will find in the links, I have ben working on a project for the past few months. I have taken Gary Indiana and I am doing a complete redesign of the city. The idea is to build a zero emissions, zero waste urban center. The city will rely completely on "renewable" energy. It will be an experiment on transitioning from an automobile based society to a more pedestrian model.

I believe ex, that we have to, in talking about infrastructure, move away from just paving over the old, and into these new areas.

I am embarrassed, as an American that Gary, as it is now, exists. Same with cities like Detroit.

I see these places as a blank slate to start over with, a canvass to move us into the future, to develop these new clean technologies...

    Hello m'dear.

Thank You for the kind words.

Yes, I see the behavior of some who call themselves conservatives here. I will not engage in that type of confrontation.

I don't know if you have noticed, but I spend most of my time here conversing with you and our friend ex.  I find it interesting that when I am labeled by others here, who are unaware of my political identification, they "accuse" me of being a liberal....

With you two, I can discuss ideas, rather than spending my energy removing confrontation from the discussion, and I truly appreciate that...

So my Exceptional progressive liberal friend, Have a wonderful day...

Well m'dear as usual when I peruse my alerts guess whose I answer first...yours or excon's. I have other friends whom I go to as well but not first. Why you ask?  Because I can ALWAYS COUNT ON BOTH OF YOU to focus on the question I ask and answer it. Others..sometimes even friends...don't always do that. They will tell me how I didn't ask the right question and proceed to tell me what I SHOULD have asked. Imagine that? Or even worse I have some AC/DC acquaintances who are sometimes civil/cordial/polite and sometimes the exact opposite. You are always calm, civil, cordial and dare I say friendly? Even if we disagree which we do sometimes. I think disagreement is where learning exists. I mean if we always agree on everything all the time then what is there to learn? But if we don't and we respect each other then we pay attention..we listen..we try to understand the WHY behind it. It's not that hard to do but some folks seem  incapable of it so as you have guessed I tend to ignore the incapables. What's the point? I remember someone asked a question about the difference between what Conservatives think and what Liberals think and I answered it. I forget whose question it was. You popped in right after and said you couldn't have described it better yourself. That was quite a compliment and it made me so happy to know that I was evenhanded and balanced and stuck to the core issue and didn't go off on ranty tangents which never serve a useful purpose. After years on Answerbag and months on Answermug I sadly realize that some people show up simply to insult/attack. That's their thing and  I have no problem with it. I just avoid it. Thank you for your thoughtful reply des and Happy Wednesday! :)
