Everyday.  It is my job to experience it and spread it to my clients.

They are paying me to get blissed out.   (my spa doesn't offer orchids on the table.  What a JOKE.  LOL )

But it means to enjoy the misfortune of others. Are you gaining bliss from their pain?

    Ondine, I am so daft.

I was thinking off the top of my head and remembered pleasure.  I forgot that the pleasure was from the misfortune of others.  DUH.

    I'll try again.  Nevermind!

Schadenfruede: pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.

Does listening to the news or a police/fire scanner count?
I'm not pleased by the misfortune, as much as enjoy staying informed.

I was also going to say I'm pleased by the misfortune of people incarcerated for crimes.
But that's not about their misfortune, as much as enjoying that justice was served for their crime.

Dummy me did not realize it was pleasure derived from misfortune.

I guess it would still fit since they have the misfortune of having to pay a lot of money to get the pleasure. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at January 20, 2020 10:15 AM MST

A few years ago when I saw a guy that sold crack to youth caught on the barbwire at the top of a fence and there was a security dog inside the compound trying to get him. I asked if he needed help and when the crack dealer screamed yes I said - I was talking to the dog then I shook the fence a bit hoping he would fall into the compound. Cheers!

What made it extra perfect was the guy had a bunch of individually wrapped crack rocks so the cops were able to charge him with trafficking. Cheers!

Icing on the cake!  Don’t drop the soap, crack-dealer!  (Actually, maybe it would be better if he did.)
