    No.

I thought we were done with eugenics.

Government types firmly believe that everybody is a genetic disorder and badly needs their guidance.

Given the fuzzy definition of "genetic disorder," I see only slippery slopes leading to unpleasant outcomes.

I guess you've been analysing some of the answers we get on this forum, and deducing the kind of mental disorder that might produce the nastiest of them.

Not banned, but certainly more education on genetics and the impact it can have.  Many people have children not even knowing their own full genetic picture.

I wouldn't mind if there was affordable testing out there for couples considering having kids.  This way they can make a more informed choice.  But it must always be a choice in a free society.

No the government should never have that kind of power over anyone.

But I would hope that people were aware of their genitic possibilities and if it is likely their child would suffer, hopefully, they would not try to have a child.

  • It will happen because people will start to selectively breed their spawn to have certain traits. It might not be a "ban" through law, but to "get ahead", the rich will design their broods to have superior skills.

I've "heard" that Down's Syndrome is practically gone now because of pre-testing. Is that true? So in some sense, that genetic disorder is being "banned".

i think it depends on which one it is, if you banned all of them then the population might die out
