A poll for married people who wear a wedding band, or for formerly married people who used to wear one:

While married, what are/were the reasons you ever take/took off your wedding band?  Nowadays I leave mine on all of the time, it’s been so long since I last took it off that I can’t even remember when the last time was nor the reason. It’s been years, maybe a decade or more.

A. To wash my hands, bathing, showering, etc.

B. While cooking, preparing food, any type of food handling

C. For safety reasons when working with my hands, working with machinery, hand-held tools, etc.

D. When getting an X-Ray, MRI, other medical procedure, going through a metal detector, etc.

E. For safekeeping, such as guarding against theft, robbery, etc.

F. For a theatrical role, or undercover; anything legitimatewhere being identified as married would conflict with the intended purpose

G. “Other” reasons (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

H. Never

I. Two or more of the above, specifically: ___________

J. None of the above, or other answers, specifically: ___________

    A. No. B. No. C.  Don used to take his off when he swung a hammer and worked in the field.  He saw a guy lose a finger because of his wedding ring. It can be very dangerous in construction.  D.  I'm giggling because I've had cat scans on my brain... not a big surprise... ;) and have had x-rays of my all my body parts throughout my life.  No. I have not taken my rings off during or for any X-rays.  E.  No. If you have them and like them.  WEAR Them and be proud!  F.  Sometimes during a photoshoot I would take them off.  G.  Since they are legit, it has never been to deceive.  I like to make sure they are seen.  When and if I go to a bar without Don, (which is very rare these days)  I call them pest bands. They keep the pests at bay.  Why bother using your best pick-up lines on me?  Use them on someone you have a chance with!  I'm trying to help you by detouring you!  ;) :)

One of the many cool things about my great grandmother was she NEVER took her wedding ring off.
From the day she and my great grandpa were married, until the day she died, her wedding ring lived on her finger.
She was a nurse during that time and it would seem she would have taken it off during her mid-wife and war-nursing moments.  She never did.
The third finger on my right hand wears that ring now.  It is very thin from wear and tear through out the years......
    But, it has never broken.

To me, wedding rings are very important.  They show encircling love that lasts forever, together.
I love mine and wear with pride and honor.

The ex and I never took off our rings.
Simply because our knuckles were slightly too large, so it was a pain to work the ring off or back on.
We had actually considered getting "ring" tattoos instead, but thankfully didn't.  LOL
