    No.   Its more akin to the Pres picking up the phone to speak to someone to relay a necessary message over distance.  Since there were no phones in his dsy the telegraph was the only way to communicate with someone semi-quickly over a distance. ...  moreNo.   Its more akin to the Pres picking up the phone to speak to someone to relay a necessary message over distance.  Since there were no phones in his dsy the telegraph was the only way to communicate with someone semi-quickly over a distance.   Your only other choice was having a courier or some other person carry your message, which literally took days, weeks or even months.  To send a telegrah cost money and required someone experienced in Morse code on both ends to send and interpret it.  And then the telegraph office on the other end had to find the person meant to recieve the message.   Thats if the telegraph lines werent damaged in between and the message got there at all.  During the Civil War soldiers on both sides deliberately cut lines, as did native americans once they realise what the lines meant.  Then there were storms and animals, westher, etc.  The telegraph was not used lightly or frivolously as Trump uses twitter.      less

    My boss now we use her first name and the job prior to that the boss also allowed his first name.   Its usually the small and insecure with something to proove who get on the major power trips and demand to be called Mr. or Mrs.

    Skin is not air tight or water proof.   The skin as an organ constantly absorbs things from the atmosphere and exudes/expresses on a consistent basis.    Its in fact a quite breathable physical covering.    Flexible, yes.   A...  moreSkin is not air tight or water proof.   The skin as an organ constantly absorbs things from the atmosphere and exudes/expresses on a consistent basis.    Its in fact a quite breathable physical covering.    Flexible, yes.   And im glad you said 'fallible' rather than 'infallible' because, as awesome as skin is as an organ, it is quite fallible.  Fairly easily damaged despite its other protective qualities.    Still the flexibility and breathability alone i think make it ideal.  Cant think of any other animal covering i would want.   Most others would be too inflexible or cumbersome for human needs.    less

    There are too many to count.  The worst are kudzu that chokes out local vegetation, zebra mussles that choke out local water ways and the japanese beetles that kill trees.

    The nearest are is a Baptist Church across the street and down about a 300 yards and another kitty corner across the field behind my apartment complex about the same distance.     Within ten minutes drive or less from where i live there are abou...  moreThe nearest are is a Baptist Church across the street and down about a 300 yards and another kitty corner across the field behind my apartment complex about the same distance.     Within ten minutes drive or less from where i live there are about thirty Christian churches of various sorts, a Kingdom Hall, a synagogue and a mosque and two of those yellow/gold and red painted place Buddhists do their thing.   Within a half hours drive you can easily double the that number. My church is twenty minutes away approx.  Within easy walking distance of my church there are four other churches i can think of.    My church is non-denom.   Those other four are Southern Baptist, a Lutheran, a Methodist and another non-denom.   Its the Bible belt.     less
