There's a Catholic church not far from where I am. There's also a Catholic student center a few blocks away. I mainly know the Catholic stuff because that's what's most relevant to me. But there is also a mosque near campus that was vandalized not too long ago.

"I mainly know the Catholic stuff because that's what's most relevant to me. But there is also a mosque near campus that was vandalized not too long ago." I hope it wasn't some Catholics who did the vandalism. If so you might like to alert them that according to Catholicism Islam is a valid path to salvation. Where does it say so? In one of the CCCs [Catechisms of the Catholic Church] In fact the Catechism goes further than that. After saying that "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator," it states that "in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day." (CCC 841)
I have one almost opposite me and there is another a few paces down the road... one is Baptist, erm I think.. I know they were of the hug the person next to you kind, which would be my preference were I of a religious bent. The other church is one of the more way out types, Bretherin or something...
We have a lot of churches, not all in use now as we were once a very religious country..
There is one church within a mile. We call it 'Stevie Wonder's church' because it is where they held funeral services for Stevie Wonder's Aunt Mae. He did the eulogy. Stevie's mother and aunt used to go fishing down at the river. His aunt Mae , legend says, gave him his first harmonica.

There is a Methodist church about 2 blocks away. Other than than, I think the nearest churches are a mile or two away, the nearest synagogue is 5 or more miles and I have no idea where there is a mosque although I'm know there are some. A friend alos took me took me to her Buddhist temple, which was several miles across town/
The local is about a mile away. Others are spaced a further mile away each time but in different directions. Usually go to local, but can go to others as for example today.
Sad that mosques are being vandalized; people in glass houses and all that. The mosque is about 5 miles away and our denomination tries to get along with them.

I can see two Churches just by looking out of my front door, both built in the last year. One is a Mormon Church and the other is a nondenominational Church which is green and orange and looks like a spaceship.
The nearest are is a Baptist Church across the street and down about a 300 yards and another kitty corner across the field behind my apartment complex about the same distance. Within ten minutes drive or less from where i live there are about thirty Christian churches of various sorts, a Kingdom Hall, a synagogue and a mosque and two of those yellow/gold and red painted place Buddhists do their thing. Within a half hours drive you can easily double the that number. My church is twenty minutes away approx. Within easy walking distance of my church there are four other churches i can think of. My church is non-denom. Those other four are Southern Baptist, a Lutheran, a Methodist and another non-denom.
