Do you think remote babysitting is legit?

I get emails from a website that connects parents with babysitters and they're now trying to push remote babysitting as a viable option. Your babysitter watches your children remotely from his or her home. I can't fathom what makes them think it's a good idea. Pros? Cons? Discuss.

    Fat lot of good if a small child is choking or falls down  the stairs or gets an electric shock ....the dangers are endless....

    That is crazy. The only children that would be "okay" with are children who really do not need a babysitter. And then it is still creepy.

    Legit? Probably yes, but only because no one's thought to pass a law against it yet.

    They ought pass those laws quicksmart - before something terrible happens as a result of it.

    I'd say it's okay to have internal house monitors in the bedrooms if there's a responsible adult in the living room and keeping an eye on the monitor.

    Doesn't matter what age a kid is; there's always a risk they might get themselves into trouble.

    Not legit, not remotely viable; it’s dangerously, moronically stupid. 

    Sorry, but this is one job that has to be done in person. Children can and will routinely disobey, have accidents and do unsafe things with responsible adults standing over them in the same room.
