    (Wisely?)

I don‘t think that is for me to say.

I would be content to think I lived well, did my best, and was of service while I was here.
For that, I need only live the part.

That seems to me like perhaps a high level of modesty.
But how are humans to attain wisdom if we don't know what it is?
How is it that we even have such a word?

Heheh. I think wisdom can be defined in the same way US Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart famously defined pornography: [you] know it when you see it.

What we call wisdom is the state of being wise. The former being derived from the latter.
As I stated previously, I don’t think it‘s valid to declare oneself wise. That is for others to determine.

According to the old adage, heh? "Only the fool thinks he is wise."

Well I lived my first  half of life very un  wisely and my second half  wisely.  So I  guess I would need  a time machine  and go back  in time and change a lot of things  before I could die  while saying/thinking  that I lived my  life wisely.. Cheers!

My guess is that would apply to most of us.
And I think if we've learned from our mistakes that counts as a big plus. :)

Probably not, by my standards of 'wisely'.

How would you feel if you could say you'd lived wisely from today?
    What would it take?

I have no idea. Maybe I don't want to know. (I hope that didn't sound rude.)

Not at all!  I’ve made some extremely unwise decisions over the course of my lifetime. Look, I’m a member of this website, for one thing . . .

Ah, but I bet you've done many wise things.
In fact, I'd guess you do wise things most days.
Perhaps if you weighed the foolish against the wise, you'd find it heavier on the wise side.

Thank you. I’ve balanced the foolhardy and the wise to the point that I couldn’t in good faith claim I’ve lived wisely.

    :)
