If you were to ever run for high public office, how many people might come forward in dispute with accusations of your alleged unworthiness?

A.  Absolutely zero; I’ve been a saint

B.  Absolutely zero; I made sure to “take care of” little problems like that along the way

C.  Absolutely zero; I made sure to “pay for” my past mistakes along the way

D.  Wait, is there word on the streets about me, what have you heard?

E.  Probably a few here and there, nothing that my “business associates” won’t be able to convince them that their memories are a bit fuzzy

F.  It depends on statutes of limitations in various jurisdictions

G.  With the vetting process looming before me, I’ve been on AnswerMug far too long to attempt public office

H.  Knowledge of, acquaintance with, or associations to Randolph D disqualify me completely, grrrrrrrrr

I.   Two or more of the above, namely___________________

J.   None of the above/other answer, namely _____________________

The problem would be the dead silence.
I've lived a reclusive life and have very few achievements.
I have poor leadership skills unless plonked in front of a classroom.
    I have zero charisma.
I hate pumping hands, and kissing and embracing people I don't know.

No one would ever think of putting me forward as a candidate.
And if by some madness they did, I'd be terrified.

Bookworm said she would be terrified.  I asked if she would be at a loss for words.  The response failed to come under her comment.  Sorry.

Oh, I see. You placed it as a reply to the question as opposed to a comment to her reply.  It threw me off at first.

I can see how you would be thrown off.  Sorry.

    D. It doesn't count because I was drunk when I did all that.

    J. I have no skeletons in my closet, but past experience shows that I do not possess any leadership skills. I may know what needs to be done but lack the ability to get others to go along with it.

Don't you just hate it when some people's ONLY idea of leadership is something akin to popularity contests?  I have always had much more respect for a firm, by-the-book, let's-get-the-job-done type of leader than those who try to get everyone to like him or her.  I don't know if my mindset was already like that before I joined the Marine Corps, and as a result, I I loved the Marine Corps so much because it was like that, or if by having been in the Marine Corps, my mind developed into that mindset that I loved so much.  Either way, after having served there from the time I left high school and for more than decade after that, I was sort of ruined for the softness of civilian job settings.  I've never run into so much whining and crying from supposed adults who are being paid to do a job they put in for, and do not have to stay at if they dislike it so much!

Whew, end of rant.  I know it doesn't exactly mirror what you referred to in your post, so forgive me for hijacking it.
