If Esper said anything against, or in disagreement, with the current president, then, yes - - Esper is out of a job -- just like almost everyone else who has the audacity to disagree with Trump.

EDIT: I admit I didn't listen to your clip before answering. I'm just going on the president's track record.

EDIT #2: Yes, my answer is purposely written in a sarcastic manner. :)

Donald Trump has run an all-or-nothing presidency, meaning that cabinet members and other staffers must agree with him 100% or they are out. In addition to all-or-nothing, he has even ousted some people who did agree with him. It’s difficult to understand how he arrives at his decision-making.

I think Trump will wait a day or two to come up with an excuse. He will say that Esper has not been working out and he had planned to fire him for some time now. And Trump will think that we believe him.

    Excellent.

And, if Esper gets fired, it will go down like you said, too.

The one who's really going to be in hot water is the guy from the Pentagon who said invoking that act should be a last resort.  If he defies Trump's order, he's out.

Esper, right or wrong on his opinion is a fair question but he works for the President who is Commander in Chief as we allow a Civilian (President) to be in charge of the Military and that keeps the military from having a coup like some Countries do. Esper can disagree but in public then he is cutting his own throat on that job. I was a football coach and sure assistants disagreed with me and we talked things out but if they go in the paper and radio and criticize me, do you think I would or should keep them?
