    For me, the Lammergeier or Bearded vulture.  One was reported traversing England recently (suggested a casual visitor from the Pyrenees). This is the species that carry bones to great heights and drop them on rocks to access the marrow - yum yum.

    I love watching large birds in flight. I've not heard of the bearded vulture until reading your answer. While "looking it up," I knew I'd probably like the bird once I saw it. And I did. :)

    I have never had my favorite bird, no. I don't think it is ever likely to happen now. Mavis would never go for it anyway - if she were to be told, or to somehow find out, that is. She kind of regards me as her property, as I do her.
