    It's a pool game for kids. Kind of stupid - I believe the only point is someone says "Marco" and someone else says "Polo."

    Yes but I do it all the time everywhere. Back when I worked in retail and I couldn't see my employees over the racks, I'd yell out "Marco" and they'd "Polo" back to me so I'd know where they were. I sometimes do it with my kids at home. I have no idea where it originated though.

      I have. As a child, I took swimming lessons at the local YMCA, and playing Marco Polo was one of the activities in which we participated.

    Like others, I never caught on to the game. I just heard others in the large public pool yelling it.
    And I went back to the diving board or slide or swam with my friends who never seemed to play the game.
