Harry Styles seems to really enjoy strawberries and watermelon.

Yeah, I miss hearing from Gentry. But her entire catalogue -- I have quite a bit of it - - never ages at all for me. Love her stuff.

Yeah, I never noticed my friend's resemblance to Stiles until this video. My friend has more of a bulky muscular build, I'd think. They're both good looking guys.

Believe it or not, for as much as I like her, I don't  think I knew she sang this song. I looked it up after reading your comment.
And no surprise -- immediately her version became my favorite just moments ago. (And I really like Dionne Warwick's version, too.)
I first saw the first video here  - and I enjoyed the visual images in the video, so I'm posting it. And I'm posting the second video because the sound quality seems a bit better.

I tell you -- there's something about Gentry; l love her voice and style in anything I hear from her -- thanks for introducing me to her version of the song! The BEST version, ha! :)

EDIT: The second video wouldn't play for me. No biggie. :)

LOL! You didn't know Bobbie sang this, and I didn't know Dionne Warwick sang it. Awesome! :)

    Ha!!

    :)

I've listened to Bobbie's version about four more times since posting my reply to you! And Dionne's a could of times, too.

    It IS, isn't it?  :)

I love this song. But I'm a total sucker for Gentry. She does no wrong at all for me.

“(Put the Lime in the) Coconut” by Harry Nilsson, 1971.

    LYRICS

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one she paid it for the lime
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up
She put the lime in the coconut, she call the doctor, woke 'I'm up
And said "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?"
I said "doctor, to relieve this belly ache"
I said "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?"
I said "doctor, to relieve this belly ache"
    Now lemme get this straight
You put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em bot'up
Put the lime in the coconut, you call your doctor, woke 'I'm up
Said "doctor, ain't there nothing' I can take?"
I said, "doctor, to relieve this belly ache"
I said "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?'
I said, "doctor, to relieve this belly ache"
You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em bot' together
Put the lime in the coconut and you'll feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning"
    Woo-oo-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
    Woo-oo-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
    Woo-oo-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one she paid it for a lime
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em bot' up
She put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke 'I'm up
And said, "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?'
I said, "doctor, to relieve this belly ache"
I said "doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take?"
I said, "doctor, now lemme get this straight
You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em bot'up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut, you're such a silly woman
Put a lime in the coconut and drink 'em bot' together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you'll feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both down
Put the lime in your coconut, and call me in the morning
Woo, ain't there nothin' you can take?
I say, woo, to relieve your belly ache
You say, well woo, ain't there nothin' I can take?
I say woo, woo, to relieve your belly ache
You say ya, ain't there nothin' I can take?
I say wow, to relieve this belly ache
I said "doctor, ain't there nothing I can take?"
I said, "doctor, ain't there nothing I can take?"
I said, "doctor, ain't there nothing I can take?"
I said, "doctor you're such a silly woman"
Put the lime in the coconut and drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, and you'll feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em bot' up
Put the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning
Yes, you call me in the morning, you call me in the morning
I'll tell you what to do if you call me in the morning
I'll tell you what to do if you call me in the morning
I'll tell you what to do if you call me in the morning
I'll tell you what to do and if you call me in the morning
I'll tell you what to do

Banana Boat Song is incredible. The Dining table scene from "Beetlejuice" comes to mind immediately. :)

Certain songs from The Beatles really kick me in great ways  -  especially "Come Together." But many, like "Strawberry Fields," do little for me. Yet, anything by Bobbie Gentry (my answer) takes me to wonderful places always. :)
There's something about her for me that The Beatles lack. Ha! :)

EDIT: Yeah, I'm a bit surprised, too, that you were the first to mention this song.

I think this counts, if you just ignore the “pie” part. It’s one my most favourite songs so I decided it counts.
